The Wither Hills stand at last weekend’s Marlborough Wine Festival – designed by Coast New Zealand – was awarded the ‘Best Stand’ award. 

This one will be going straight to the pool room.

Those of you lucky enough to have visited the Wither Hills Winery in Blenheim will no doubt have enjoyed sampling their delicious wines while relaxing in a Coast Marine Bean.

For the purposes of the Wine Festival, we wanted to design an ‘outdoor room’ that was civilised but unpretentious.  Rather than simple bar or counter, we proposed an area where visitors could sit for a while and relax, much as they would at the Wither Hills winery.

We were also keen to include a view through to the vines to underscore the unique relationship between wine, vine and terroir.

The conception and execution of our design will be the subject of a further post, but in the meantime congratulations to the entire Wither Hills team for their hard work and many thanks for including Coast New Zealand.
